The time is arrived for Udalbiltza; let us undertake a joint way: the November 18, General Assembly (06-10-25)
The political year already began. Udalbiltza had already seven years since its creation, in the Euskalduna Palace, and we’re in the political moment the most interesting. We’re in front of the doors of a process which could drive to the conflict’s definitive resolution and to the obtaining of a democratic frame.

We can’t affirm we’ll find the solution immediately but, at less, the narrowing of the relations between the various parties, the will demonstrated by the majority of the citizens and the inclusion of this question in the european program indicate that we’re going in the good direction. There’s those who try to impeach the process, and also those who act like a coward, but, beyond all that, it’s undeniable that Euskal Herria gives rise to the conditions necessary and that out of their frontiers each time more actors shows their disposition to collaborate. Finally, the moment to approach the essence of the conflict is arrived. The time to resolve it is arrived. The time is come to observe the keys of this historical process with an international level and a political character. At least, it’s time to recognize and to respect the Euskal Herria’s and basque citizens rights.

Udalbiltza has the will to transform itself in an active actor for the political process, that’s why, with the view to develop the five principles approved at its creation's time, it must adapt itself to the situation. Besides, it reaffirmed itself in the engagements which correspond to it in the promotion of the process: the elaboration of a deep exam of the basque citizens’ rights and the reorganization of the national institution.

With an aim of attacking us with these two objectives, the next 18th of november, we’ll make our General Assembly, where we’ll approve the assessment of the year and we’ll present the new plan for the present. It’ s not a year of transition. On the contrary, at the end of this year, the town halls from Araba, Bizkaia, Gipuzkoa and Nafarroa Garaia will be renew, like those from Lapurdi, Nafarroa Beherea and Zuberoa few months later, before the end of 2007. We want to take advantage of this occasion to transform Udalbiltza in a institutional space of all the Euskal Herria’s town councillors.

At the actual time, so important for the future of this people, the General Assembly constitutes an occasion to take part in the strategic debate that the lonely national institution in force pretends to start about its future, that’s why the next weeks we’ll extend the personalised invitations to all the Euskal Herria’s town councillors.
