The national institutions appointed the 10th of December like Day of the Human Rights and, as usual, various acts will be organised everywhere in the world. Being given that’s the day of the rights, and by holding account of the fact than so much Euskal Herria than the Basque citizenship see their rights denied, we must transform this day in a day of claiming and denunciation. Our nationality is a right, but we must obtain it, so Udalbiltza convokes once again, the December 16 and 17, the Day of the Nationality’s right.

We’ll take advantage of these days to claim our right to be a nation, for obtaining a worldwide diffusion, and will continue to organize this day as long as our right will be flouted, that is to say, until the recognition of Euskal Herria like nation. However, like our right to be Basque is violated everyday, we can also exercise it and reflect it everyday, for that we have only one implement. In that, the EHNA is more than an identification card, it’s the practical exercise of our right in front of a nationality’s imposition

In the actual political context, the denunciation of these rights that the Basque citizenship sees violated is more important than never, and it’s in this direction that’s the report that Udalbiltza will present soon. However, we can’t only make a denunciation and in order that the Basque citizens’ and Euskal Herria’s rights be recognized, we’re going to claim them but besides we’ll exercise them using the implement created by Udalbiltza, the EHNA. So, through individual contributions, we’ll bring also a collective contribution and we’ll obtain that the Euskal Herria’s territoriality and its right to decide be recognized.

So, the EHNA constitutes the practical exercise of our right, of the right which belongs to us like person, but it isn’t sufficient, because, more than recognizing the Basque citizenship, the others nations must also recognize our right to decide of our future. For this, Udalbiltza implemented the last year a second initiative: the official request which, more than denunciating the imposition by the two states, requires from the UNO that it does what is necessary to recognize our nationality.

It’s evident that, in order that our rights be recognized, we require for the support of various institutions, more still if account is held owing to the fact that this institution is in charge of the defense of the rights. For this reason, through the individual contributions (by filling the official request), we’ll present us also like people in front of the United Nations.

Udalbiltza will make a supplementary step this year, and the Day of the Nationality’s Right will be composed by various stages:

- To the Fair of Durango, in addition to the annual presence, we want to further go, this is why we'll offer the possibility to treat the Declaration of Basque Nationality (EHNA) with those which present the documents necessary.
- the December 11 and 18, the universitary students will hold the Day of the Nationality's Right of Udalbiltza and will make steps on the campuses of Leioa, Ibaeta, Iruñea and Gasteiz.
- the December 15, and the workers will replace of the students and will treat the EHNA in various places of work. Finally, December the 16 and 17, it will be all the Basque society which will be able to take the step in tens of communes.

It belongs to the town cuncillors, each one in his framework, to guarantee this possibility to all the citizenship during all the year and more especially the December 16, when it has more importance than never. By these lines we call you to treat the EHNA and to complete the official request.

On the other hand, we salute the students’ initiative to vote with the EHNA during the elections of the student Councils held the last november 23, as well as the user guides which are published in different communes (the last, Bergara) and the steps which are made by the Diaspora.

Also, we emphasize the mobilisation that Bai Euskal Herriari has convoked for the December 6 for our right to the nationality and call the Basque society to take part of it.

Finally, it convains to emphasize the importance in the actual time to claim the right to an own nationality, since in more of making a contribution to the opened process, all the citizenship has also the means of propelling it.
