By this note, Udalbiltza declares what is following at the occasion of tomorrow, the 25, Day against the Violence towards the Woman.

The 25th of November 2006, the given informations on the violence against the women show us a difficult reality, a reality each time more serious, a reality each time more cruel.

The victims of this violence aren’t accidental or isolated, but are direct victims of a hierarchical social structure, of a structural situation.

All of us, we’ve something to do in front of this situation; when theses events happen, we can’t turn the back to them We believe that the condemnation of theses aggressions prove of importance vital, taking part of the mobilisations.

Besides, all we must require responsibilities and claim that this situation don’t be hidden from the institutions in the citizenship’s service.

In this context, we emphasize the institutional responsibility, by taking and by offering measures and attentions integral and effective necessary within the framework of prevention and the support: means to finish with this reality, in all Euskal Herria and for all the Basque women. Beyond the laws for justifying personally and for dissimulating the situation and beyond of the pseudo prevention, one confirms as vital to open the effective ways to affront this structural reality. In that, Udalbiltza is reaffirmed in its engagements: by leaving from the Charter of the Rights, made in 2002, to elaborate a report on the violations of the Basque citizenship’s rights, that we’ll present soon, and to make steps for their protection.

Finally, Udalbiltza calls the Basque society for taking part to the mobilisations which are convoked since the feminist movement for the November 25 and it announces that a representation of the institution will go there.
