DECLARATION OF UDALBILTZA AT THE OCCASION OF THE PROHIBITION OF THIS GENERAL ASSEMBLY BY THE NATIONAL AUDIENCE (2006-11-17)[ categories: Udalbiltza ]
THE PROHIBITION IMPOSED BY THE NATIONAL AUDIENCE EMPHASIZES THE NECESSITY OF NATIONAL ADEQUAT INSTITUTIONS. THE UDALBILTZA’S REORGANISATION PROVES MORE NECESSARY THAN NEVER. THE TIME IS COME FOR UDALBILTZA, LET US UNDERTAKE THE JOINT WAY.
The National Audience prohibited the General Assembly that Udalbiltza was going to hold tomorrow in Beasain. It’s an aggression to the right of Euskal Herria to organize itself, an aggression against the lonely national institution which gathers the town councillors from the seven territories. Don’t allow the town councillors chosen by the Basque citizenship to work for Euskal Herria is it reconcilable with a peace’s process? After the violent agression in 2003, why to prohibit now what was possible in 2004 and 2005, in Getxo and in Iruñea respectively? They must know that we’ll continue to work for an institution which brings together all the Euskal Herria’s town councillors and to be active actors for a political process. We don’t deny that they can put obstacles, proof is the fact that the General Assembly of tomorrow can't take place by the force. However, the time of Udalbiltza is come. The time of Euskal Herria is come and the strategy against the will of this people won’t succeed. All this people who whish impeach the Udalbiltza’s work must know that this national institution will continue firmly in the defence of the basque citizenship’s rights, so that all the citizenship from all Euskal Herria have all the rights, that agrees or not to the France and to the Spain. Finally, we announce that all the town councillors brought together here, we join us to the demonstration convoked for tomorrow by a part of Goierri’s citizens, in 10.30am, in front of the Beasain’s town hall , since we consider the devise “the right for foundation. For an Euskal Herria’s institution” very adapted. We call all the citizens to go there and, especially, all the Euskal Herria’s town councillors, to claim and to defend the right of Euskal Herria to organize itself institutionnaly.
