Euskal Herria is the country of the euskera. The linguistic rights belong to all the people, and we, like Euskal Herria’s citizens, have the right to study, to live and to work in euskera. The national institutions appointed the 10th of December like Day of the Human Rights and, as usual, various acts will be organised everywhere in the world. Being given that’s the day of the rights, and by holding account of the fact than so much Euskal Herria than the Basque citizenship see their rights denied, we must transform this day in a day of claiming and denunciation. Our nationality is a right, but we must obtain it, so Udalbiltza convokes once again, the December 16 and 17, the Day of the Nationality’s right.

The persons in charge of the commissions of the Udalbiltza’s International Relations and of Nationality, Miren Odriozola and Peio Gascón have respectively emphasized yesterday the engagement that the basque diaspora from Argentina and from Uruguay with the process open in Euskal Herria showed. The official elects evaluated positively the last tour made in the framework of the Basque National Week of Córdoba and have emphasized the importance of the basque community which is living outside in this political moment.

The Udalbiltza’s representative Peio Gascón has done yesterday, friday 27, a press conference in the frame of the Basque National Week of Cordoba, where he has appeared with representatives of the different basque political trends of the diaspora. In this framework, Gascón has observed the importance of the political moment that’s living Euskal Herria and has emphasized the importance of the international community’s and basque diaspora’s implication in this process.

The political year already began. Udalbiltza had already seven years since its creation, in the Euskalduna Palace, and we’re in the political moment the most interesting. We’re in front of the doors of a process which could drive to the conflict’s definitive resolution and to the obtaining of a democratic frame.

We can’t affirm we’ll find the solution immediately but, at less, the narrowing of the relations between the various parties, the will demonstrated by the majority of the citizens and the inclusion of this question in the european program indicate that we’re going in the good direction. There’s those who try to impeach the process, and also those who act like a coward, but, beyond all that, it’s undeniable that Euskal Herria gives rise to the conditions necessary and that out of their frontiers each time more actors shows their disposition to collaborate. Finally, the moment to approach the essence of the conflict is arrived. The time to resolve it is arrived. The time is come to observe the keys of this historical process with an international level and a political character. At least, it’s time to recognize and to respect the Euskal Herria’s and basque citizens rights.

The process of the conflict’s internationalisation that's living Euskal Herria knew different phases. During years, different Euskal Herria’s popular, trade-union, institutionnal and social actors visited the world making known the situation we’re living here, by revealing the historical origin of this conflict and by claiming a political resolution. International forums and worldwide summits, congresses and conventions... The scenes are numerous where one learnt the basque conflict.

Udalbiltza calls to participate to Nafarroa Oinez (2006-10-13)

At the occasion of the festivity Bera Oinez which will take place this sunday in Bera, Udalbiltza affirmed that Nafarroa Oinez is more than a festivity for the euskera, that constitutes a reflection of the progresses in the construction of an own educative system and the expression of the will to follow this line.

Thanks to the work realized during long years, the progress in an own educative system’s construction is notable, but steps still stay to do as to guarantee that the school euskaldunises all the basque youth, to apply a basque curriculum and to start the basque university. We're working in this sense, and Udalbiltza will firmly work, in collaboration with the basque citizens and the popular actors to advance on this way.

Reflection of Udalbiltza at the occasion of the Spanish Character’s Day (2006-10-11)

Udalbiltza: "in these days of negation of the Euskal Herria’s national character, we call all the basque citizens to implicate themselves in the national construction and to claim their basque nationality. We must elaborate our own calendar".

According to the Letter from Alger, all the peoples have the right to organize themselves. On the other hand, the Universal Declaration of the Human Rights affirms that one can’t impose to anybody a nationality which isn’t one’s. However, this reality full of impositions demonstrate the contrary, and the proof is the date of tomorrow. In effect, the 12th of October and the 14th of July, being the principal festivities of the Spanish and French states, are seen in Euskal Herria like a threat and an imposition, since they are used by the two states to be windy the submission that we suffer.

LET US SOW THE EUSKAL HERRIA OF THE FUTURE (2006-10-02)

There are fundamental elements in a people’s organization, like the education. However, the education is more: the education constitutes a vital implement to guarantee the future of a people, since that will be the next generations which will integrate the society of the future. This society of the future will be characterised by the education they receipt, that’s why an euskaldun education will lead to an euskaldun society, in the same measure where an education of liberation will bring a free society.

When in 2001, Udalbiltza has evocated the necessity to elaborate a curriculum for Euskal Herria, the opinions were numerous, as those which questioned and continue to question the need of an unified curriculum for Euskal Herria. However, at the end of june, contrary to the word given some months before, the new proposition has been presented by various associations from the public sector, like EHIGE, Bihe and Sarean: “A curriculum for Euskal Herria. Basic ideas”.

Udalbiltza calls the basque society to participate to Kilometroak which will take place on sunday in Oiartzun (2006-09-28)

Thousands of basque citizens will walk the 1st of october in Oiartzun with the object to claim one more time an objective not only just, but also, completly necessary: a popular educative system, euskaldun and national.

As we affirmed in the Charter of rights, published in november 2002, “All the Euskal Herria’s men and women as well as the next generations, have the right to live and to move in euskera, without any limit”, “all the Euskal Herria’s citizens have the right to the education”, “to guarantee the right to education in Euskal Herria means to say (…) the transmission of our cultural patrimony, the development of an own curriculum and the promotion of a co-educational teaching which breaks with the assignation of differentiated role according to the sex”… Today, Udalbiltza reaffirmed itself in the claiming of these rights and, in this line of work for the rights of all the basque citizenship, we consider as indispensable the support given to the fest organized in Oiartzun and the promotion of the daily work, acquiring firm engagements in this framework.

Estimation of the actual political moment addressed to the international actors (2006-09-17)

Even being conscious of the difficulty of taking stock of the peace’s process’ s evolution that’s actually living our people, and at the beginning of this new political year, after this summer time, we speak to you with the intention to inform you on the political time actually open in Euskal Herria.

It’s certain that Euskal Herria is today in front of a new political area’s doors, and that’s precisely now that the responsibility of each implied actor will be important. Indubitably, with a clear mean the notification of the ceasefire by the organisation ETA the 2006 22nd of march contributed at this process’s opening.

By new steps, the Udalbiltza’s dynamic of reorganization continues to advance (2006-09-16)

Seven years later, Udalbiltza goes back to the Euskalduna’s Palace. The first national institution integrated by town halls and the town councillors is born the 18th of september in this same place. During these seven years we recorded a lot of events and Udalbiltza was in a lot of them. Today, one time more, in the beginning of this new political year, we’re in front of a new historical time, so much as people than as national institution and we met together to express our disposition to maintain the engagements which correspond to us in the two senses. The year 2006-2007 constitutes a crossroads for our people and must be a point of flexion in the Udalbiltza’s trajectory.
