Euskalerria Irratia
Even if the biggest percentage of euskaldunes are in others regions, the euskaldunes’ majority from Nafarroa Garaia is concentrated in Iruñerria. However, what is curious is that exists only one media audio in euskera, Euskalerria Irratia, which emitted for 18 years. However, the fact to have demonstrated its big experiment and a professionalism during a long time was not sufficient to see one of the FM frequencies that distributes the governement attributed, that’s why, today, there’s no medias in Iruñerria which emits legally in euskera. Thanks to the support that has receipted the citizens’ project, and even if it’s in an unlegal situation, Euskalerria Irratia has continued to inform, but the frequency’s definitive refusal has had implications in the institutional publicity, the quality, the emission and others domains.

Along these 18 years, they proced more than one time to the frequencies’ adjudication but the criterions applicated was very suspicious. The transparency’s deficiency is arrived to the tribunals, and the proof is that the last repartition was suspended by the judicial order. However, the Nafarroa’s Governement was maintained in its thirteen adjudications, and the euskera’s hate was imposed, augmenting the euskaldunes’ marginalisation.

Taking in account all what is exposed, and saying again our engagement for the defence of the Basque citizenship’s rights, Udalbiltza decided to denounce the grave situation that undergo the Iruñerria’s euskaldunes, in matter of linguistic rights, since, in our opinion, it’s a violation of the measures established by the international treaties for the minority languages’ defence and the normalisation.

Considering the situation’s gravity, Udalbiltza has decided to send a delegation to the manifestation which was convoked this Saturday to support Euskalerria Irratia and calls the citizenship to participate at this mobilisation.
